Details
Mong Duong thermal power projects with a capacity of 1,200 MW 2 consists of two units to be built in Quang Ninh Province in BOT.
This is a BOT project capacity of 1,200 MW and total investment is estimated at $ 2 billion. Also: BOT thermal power projects 3rd was successful arranger since 2001 (after 2 BOT Phu My Thermal Power running 2.2 and Phu My 3). Activity in commercial operation of the plant will begin in mid-2015 and is expected to transfer to the Government of Vietnam after 25 years of operation.
Investors BOT Power Company Ltd. AES – Vinacomin – the company was founded by three member companies of the AES Corporation of America (51%), Posco Power Corporation-Korea (30% owned) and China investment Corp CIC (19%).
After construction is completed (scheduled for March 7/2015), Mong Duong 2 project will be the first coal fired thermal power project and is the largest private Vietnam until this point and will contribute 7% of the total capacity of the electrical system of Vietnam.
